61: The Terra-Meks

Journalist, editor, and podcaster Andrew Harrison joins me to discuss everybody's favourite story from the Ro-Busters Disaster Squad, written by Pat Mills and beautifully illustrated by Dave Gibbons. As you will hear it's a tale that has particular significance for my guest, including the ending which we do spoil a bit.

Check out Andrew's Bigmouth podcast and follow him on twitter @nndroid. And get your copy of Ro-Busters: the complete nuts and bolts vol 2 from the 2000AD online store.

You can find a list of episodes so far and all the upcoming books on the Facebook page, follow the podcast on Twitter, or email me comments and suggestions to MCBCpodcast@gmail.com

  1. I wasn't a habitual 2000 AD reader growing up, but I had the 1987 annual, which contained this story. There was some good stuff in that annual, but this one always stood out in my mind, and I would occasionally return to it over the years, though I'm now 43 and haven't read it in decades. Last night for some reason it popped into my head and I googled it, leading to this podcast, which I've just listened to with interest. Some parts of the story are still pretty cler in my mind, though I never had any idea that it was part of a broader series. I still have the annual and have just plucked it off the graphic novels section of my bookshelf. Time for a re-read! Thanks for a good listen. Oh, and I am a Liverpool fan too, and similarly love the connection.
